• Design is Japan I believe (Sharp is a Japanese company), made and assembled in China.

• There is no mention anywhere in the manual or on the unit about where it is manufactured or designed or assembled. I would guess that means it was made overseas. Sharp has a facility in NJ but that is probably for distribution. You could call them and ask. 1800-237-4277

• Well, the box says "Made in China" I will guess that all assembly and manufacturing is done in China, but doubt it was designed there.
