There may be a CD cleaning kit at a store near you. They will contain a disc with a tiny brush in one spot on the disc that an alcohol solution should be applied before inserting and following the instructions. One drop of the solution is all you need. You can use one drop of rubbing alcohol if you have no solution left. It will wipe over the lens as it reads the disc in the one spot the brush is located. If it will not read after cleaning, the reader is malfunctioning and you might be able to get repaired or just get another system, depending on the age of the unit. If it is more than 1 year old, the manufacture's warranty has most likely run out.
