Besides being designed to stand on its legs, this TV has 4 screw holes in the middle of its backside, for attaching it to wall mounts, such as telescoping mounts. Those are the two ways it is designed to stand or be mounted. It is so thin that it will not stand on its own without the legs. So if all you have is a retractable tray, you would have to use the legs (which need to be attached to the bottom of the TV - very easy). The legs mount inside the width of the TV, so do not protrude beyond the edges. The legs also span 6 inches front to back, so don’t take up a lot of room depthwise. In fact, the legs are so narrow front to back that I think the TV would be prone to tipping when you were sliding your retractable tray in and out. From what you described, it sounds like you would need to customize a way to mount and stabilize this TV in your entertainment center.
