“On the Sharp LC-32Q3170U on the right side of the screen keeps popping up an information rectangle center from top to bottom that says what the tv has. LED BACKLIGHT, USB, HDMI. How do I remove this permanently? It covers the tv picture. Always comes back”

This is just a guess but I would guess you did not successfully complete your initial set up procedure. Otherwise ask the :geek squad". All of those functions are activated in the initial set up at least when you set up with Direct TV.
