In the bottom, plays down. I feel the sound is as good as any for this location.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The flatter the tv, the less space there is for a speaker cone. So the sound quality suffers. I'm certain that there'll always be exceptions, but my 40 in. Sharp tv, was unfortunately not one of those exceptions. So if sound quality is important to you, be prepared to also purchase a sound bar.

Regarding the sound quality this unit provides DTS TruSurround, which is a virtual surround sound solution that delivers a realistic surround sound environment over Stereo or 3.1 speaker configurations, most notably on HDTVs and sound bars.
