There is no fee or monthly subscription for using Roku. While there are a zillion channels to watch for free, the most popular ones like Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc do require a monthly fee, but they can be suspended and restarted at any given month without fees. Your internet service needs to include Wifi as you will not be able to plug this TV into the internet box or port directly (there is no Ethernet port on this TV ). You can plug this TV into a cable box to watch cable channels. If you use Xfinity for your cable/internet-wifi service, you can also stream the cable channels wirelessly..ie, watch cable channels in a room that doesn't have a cable connection.
