• I navigate my cable channels with the cable remote. I have no problems with scheduling shows to record.

• I have never tried to set up a timed recording (from another device I'd guess), but I have had no difficulty using the remote without numbers. In fact, it makes me realize how little I actually need them these days and frees up a lot of space on the remote. Simple.
