The Sharp Aquos model line of the past was Sharps attempt to compete with the top of the line models offered by their biggest competition (Samsung and Sony). However, as of 2015 the Sharp brand name and company was aquired by the Chinese company "Hisense". It would be difficult to compare the older Sharp TV's to the the new models, considering how fast the state of the art in HDTV has advanced in the last 10 years. It will be up to Hisense, to decide what type of TV's they choose to market using the Sharp and or Aquos brand names. If you research Hisense, they offer HDTV products at a variety of price points. This particular model of Sharp Roku HDTV is definitely not top of the line but it is an affordable TV that is probably good enough for many people. Depending on your needs and expectations, if you get this TV when BestBuy has it on one of their sale prices, it is a very good value.
