“Set up the TV and the remote doesn't work. Unplugged TV, replugged, change batteries etc. still the remote doesn't work. Has this happened to anyone else? Sharp customer service and Best Buy said to bring back the whole TV which is a pain.”

I am having the same issue and plan to take this tv back to the store. I can’t believe Best Buy is selling this junk and am very angry especially after all the work necessary to Wall Mount the tv before finding out it is essentially bricked. What happens too if you lose the remote? No buttons whatsoever.
