• Hello Nancy, when there is an available software update for the unit, it will automatically be installed on the unit. The TV would have to be connected to the internet for this to be done.

• So far I've seen my Roku TV update its software automatically a couple of times a year. In fact mine just updated to version 7.5 earlier this month. Roku usually adds a couple of new TV features each time which are a nice benefit.

• I've had two tvs with Roku for over a year. The tvs automatically update Roku and I don't notice anything. The only problem is that some of the automatic buttons are invalid now.
