Does this get over-the-air channels with an antenna null

Yes and like all other TVs one must scan for channels AFTER the antenna is connected.

The instructions say that he does and there is a section on the app screen for it. If you click on it you are offered to scan for channels. I have not tried it with an antenna attached, also there is only one coax input, so if you have cable you can't have antenna also unless cable comes in on hdmi.
