“Why is the brightness so low on this tv? I've tested the settings to turn up all the brightness settings, but the only solution I've found is disabling the HDR setting. I have tried watching movies both on Netflix and Disney+ and the picture is very dim.”

Mine is bright by default and I could probably watch a movie with the sun shining in on it. It sounds to me like you might have a faulty backlight.
