The TV is HDR compatible however not true HDR. All this means is that once you have an HDR content playing a logo pops up on the corner that shows "HDR" but that HDR content is not displayed properly. HDR singal does play but not real HDR by any means. There is a product information page at sharptvusa(dot)com/assets/ProductDownloads/149/2755157f1c/LC-55LBU711U_18-0697_MKTG_V1_final-print.pdf that states "Brilliant 4K & High Dynamic Range (HDR) picture quality " but that is just a talking point and only misleads what is truly happening which is only signal decoding to play the content. Here is a quote from AVHub about what HDR compatible means: "TVs have the ability to decode HDR10 from HDMI inputs, regardless of the panel's ability to display the information fully. Almost all 4K sets will therefore be "UHD-compatible" -- they can accept the HDR signal. But they can't display it. Gray pointed us to one US$650 Sharp 4K 50-inch model in the US which is advertised as "HDR-enabled" but has a brightness of only 300 nits." I still recommend this product at this price point. Only wish this TV had Dolby Vision support instead of getting a green screen when playing that.
