“We purchased this tv this week but the red lcd light at the bottom hand corner (standby) mode is constantly on. Is there a way to turn it off? My wife doesn't like any light left on and suspicious of activity when there's light.”

I have my TV's and other electronics' and PC's plugs connected to power strips (surge protectors). I simply turn off the power strip which completely powers off the TV (and it's Red light). This will also save a bit of your electric bill money in the long run.

I have gone through every setting on the TV, and I see no way to turn off the standby/power light.
