Hello, thanks for the question. The Sharp - Carousel 1.4 Cu. Ft. Mid-Size Microwave - Black Stainless Steel, does not have any function to illuminate the control panel. The only lights that should be seen on the control panel are those on the display where the clock is displayed. We do apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused.
