There can be a major draft through the unit when the wind blows. Cold air in, warm air out if not covered with plastic. Also I would not recommend having the unit exposed to freezing winter weather as it could damage the unit. So I would definitely take it out and close the window as I'm about to do just that with mine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The unit is not weathertight when off so it'd probably be best to remove for the winter, it will be drafty. The unit is pretty light tho so it's not hard to take in and out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would answer this question by saying when the fan is mounted it's inside of the screen. It doesn't stick outside but when the fan isn't working sucking air out or blowing in cold air does come through. It's just a minute to take the fan out of the window. That would be my advice. You could always open the window when you want it. Fresh air. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but I would take a trash bag and cover the opening if you don't plan on using it.
