• Yes! Wonderfully so. I was working on my back porch which is not far from the road. An ambulance went by and I apologized for the noise to the person I was speaking to on the phone through my headset They told me that they didnt hear a thing. I was pleasantly suprised.

• For your listening audio, they are not. They leave your ears open. However, the mic does a pretty good job canceling background noise when you speak.

• No the purpose of these headphones is that you can still hear around you and not block everyone/everything out. Good when your working at home and still need to hear what's going on at home.
