“Since this mic has a USB-C connection, can it be connected by a USB-C cable to a an iPhone which also has a USB-C connection? I know the mic has wireless connectivity, but sometimes a wired connection may be more useful.”

Yes, it can be used wired directly to the iPhone. In addition, all of the DSP control will still be available inside the MOTIV app.
