Unsure about recording onto canvas/college program as unfamiliar with it. The device does indicate can plug and record: The mic has a 3.5mm (1/8th) Tip Ring Ring Sleeve (TRRS) plug for use with portable recording-capable device. if plug the MVL mic into a headphone jack of a smartphone or tablet & open recording apps such as ShurePlus MOTIV recording app the user can easily and discretely capture high-quality audio.
