You can, but not sure if it can be done with the Siri Remote. We still have the silver remote from an older Apple TV; using that you can easily program the left/right clicks to the side click remote.

You can only program the buttons to do what another button does. So a press of a button on one remote will copy the other.

The way it learns is through IR you point your original remote's IR sensor to the IR sensor on the Sideclick. So if your original remote's swipe sends an IR signal then yes.
