- Answer 10 inches. The base is heavy. Heavy enough to make the lamp stable. It is stable.

- Answer Thanks for reaching out. You can put smart bulbs into any lamp or light fixture but it is important to follow the recommended max wattage. Max wattage for the main lamp is 100W 3-way, the reading lamp is 60W.
