• Yes, you screw the mount to a wall but the camera itself is attached to the mount with a magnet.

• It comes with a mount that relies on a magnet. There are other mounts available that are sturdier. One from SimpliSafe and another from a 3rd party. The advantage of the magnetic mount is that it is easier to remove to recharge the battery. The camera does allow for a wired connection to keep the battery charged but I don't think I'd recommend it unless the camera is under an eave.
