My system is 3 years old. It works fine. The app has the camera function, not the tower.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure what you mean "work with older system". I have a first gen simplisafe alarm and the doorbell camera. Tne only advantage I see is that if you got the interactive plan for your alarm, when you get a doorbell camera you no longer have to pay for the doorbell camera recordings
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It works well with SimpliSafe system but you can use it separately. It doesn’t work with other systems ie nest or Arlington but it does have a separate app and service you can opt to use.
