You can bury it. It will last for about 5 years. Get some plastic pipe and some plumbing glue bury in the pipeline and it will last probably 20 years.

I would consider it a part of the assembly, and listed for its purpose, and that would, I assume, mean that being buried is ok. I didn't read the instructions, but does it say to bury the supplied wire?
