I believe the power rating of each speaker is 50 watts RMS, 100 Max. RMS would mean continuous power, while max is exactly what is says. You would really have to crank up the volume to unpractical levels to actually push 100 watts out to the speaker constantly. My speakers are powered by an old Kenwood receiver rated at 125 watts per channel and I have not had any problems at all.
