• The FM Direct Adapter (FMDA25) is used with a SiriusXM Satellite radio to get satellite radio in your 2001 Kia sportage. But by itself, the FM Direct Adapter is not sufficient to receive Satellite radio in your car.

• It should. If you do not have an auxillary port on the front of your head unit this device can be used. It installs into the antenna port on the back of the head unit, so the head unit will have to be removed and reinstalled. I installed it in an older vehicle and it works great, no static on a 14 hour drive.
