I don't know how you installed it so that the car door pinches the wire. The service technician at Best Buy installed it on my Toyota 4-Runner just above the windshield on the passenger side roof. The wire runs under the windshield gasket and in through the dashboard, exiting in the vicinity of the glove box. The antenna wire is then taped to the power wires where they plug into my radio mount. I have no wires flopping around loose inside the cabin and nothing that can pinch or damage the wires. Have a professional install it next time.

At first inspection, the mechanic thought the middle of the trunk had plenty of clearance but did not realize the clearance lessened when closed thus pinching the wire and eventually causing it to break. After a few replacement wires and hot wiring the cable, none of which were permanent, I pointed out the lack of clearance when the trunk closed so the the mechanic moved the antenna to the right where there was more clearance. That solved the problem. Look for a place where your door closes that has adequate clearance and room for the cable to flex when the door closes.
