No special steps to hook up as long as you have a southern facing window with an unobstructed view of the southern horizon. The kit comes with everything you need. Optional 50ft extension cables can be purchased if you the radio needs to be more than 20 feet from the southern facing window. Or if your window has metal screens or metalized coatings for energy efficiency which can block our satellite signal and require that the included weather proof indoor/outdoor antenna be placed outside the window.
