NO it does not. Place antenna on counter or shelf or speaker top facing in the direction of window, probably south and you should not have any problem getting good reception. Do not put it too close to a wall, The area in front of the antenna should be clear and not blocked by anything.

No - this is an inside desk unit and the separate XM antenna while it can go outside can be put on the indoor window sill that has a southern exposure (and put a piece of paper over it to protect it from the sun). I’ve done it that way for 10 years / always works.
