Serius says one must mount an external antenna to get a good view of the sky. This involves routing wires. I do NOT do this, I leave it on my dash. You may need to move it around a bit, the signal transmits thru the windshield, but not the metal in the car. I rent cars often, so I move my radio when I do. Keep in mind the cord is long, and it is sensitive to damage, so if you move it frequently it will wear out. (about every couple years in my experience). However, a replacement antenna is not expensive, so it is not a big deal to me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I mounted mine inside on the dash close to the windshield and it works just fine. Occasionally lose reception
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you still have an external antenna. It just doesn't plug into the radio. It plugs into the 12v adapter.
