“I have an older model of sirius radio in my 17 malibu, it only goes to channel 235, looking for something that will upgrade my radio to get the 300 to 700+ level channels. Will this work without adding more crap to my dash.”

As long as it's sirius xm compatible it should. I got my tuner behind my dash so it's completely out of sight. On my after market radio the xm connection is on the back of the radio which made for a clean install.
