The thickness is maybe a few millimeters and VERY flimsy. The only good thing is to does cover the all the white areas of the cameras, leaving the face, lens and motion sensors totally exposed. Of note, since I bought a white mount kit, I had to wrap Spanish moss around it, then I have the now darker colored camera due to the skin I am reviewing. It looks much better now mounted than when it was all white. Easy to hide? sorta... depends on where you put it and if you paint the mounts you choose to use.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The skins are a very heavy, flexible black rubber type material. They are well made and slide on the Pro Series camera fairly easy (Be sure you get the Pro Series if that is the camera you have as the original skins won't fit this new cameras.) I also like the black color of the skins as they help hide the camera at night.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The skin thickness is such that it is reasonable to think these are of good quality. I don't know the thickness other than they don't feel cheap. Easy to hide...? Well that is a loaded question as there are many factors that come into play. But you should mount these so they are not easy reachable to steel or damage, out of line of sight, yet positioned to get the best view of the potential issue and violators. The skins and mounts in black are vital in helping conceal these devices against the backdrop of the surface that it is mounted. Ask for help, another set of eyes, and realize that trial and error will be the most time spent installing these devices. Netgear took the hassle out of everything else about this camera system. Where you place the devices and money spent on the accessories will help you get the best concealment and view you can expect.
