Once you set up the app, you will get an alert on your phone any time motion is detected. There are several settings available.

The camera has options for motion and sound detection based on sensitivity and your needs.

You also have a live view and the pro has the option to take pictures or record some or all of what you are seeing. It is motion censored, you just have to test it to see how far the motion will pick up to make the camera record.
