Once you set up the app, you will get an alert on your phone any time motion is detected. There are several settings available.

This skin does not come with the camera, however, if you have the Arlo Pro, or the Arlo, You can download the app and look at what the camera sees through there. The camera has options for motion and sound detection based on sensitivity and your needs.

Yes there is an app on your phone, it will record and send you files. You also have a live view and the pro has the option to take pictures or record some or all of what you are seeing. It is motion censored, you just have to test it to see how far the motion will pick up to make the camera record.
