1 Yes you can use the auxiliary cable to listen to your music if your battery runs out. 2 They do fold flat for storage in the provided case.

The sound is great and you don't get that irritating hiss. Really, you shouldn't have to worry about having no power as the battery life is excellent. Yes they fold for storage in the provided hard shell case.
