works fine with android 4.4.2.. the only time you will have a problem is if the device is running on a newer Bluetooth version than your device was built to support. i have a galaxy S5 no issues syncing or controlling. music sounds amazing as most Bluetooth and wireless speakers make songs sound super tinny these add nice full sound without playing with the phones built in equalizer and options.

It seems to be Bluetooth 2. It connects quickly and doesn't need to send any other data that you would find in versions 3 and 4. It works well with all the android versions that I used it on, including my table running 4.4.2
