• There is a + and - button on the side of the headphones to where you can just turn up or turn down the sound of the headphones themselves and not the TV or the media player you're using. Hope that helps.

• The headphones do have volume adjusters on them, I do believe that is just on the incoming volume and will not change the TVs volume

• So far with the tv I have only used them as a gaming headset. When I plug them into the controller it mutes the tv and all control goes through the headset.
