• yes Sara the doorbell does ring inside when I installed it for my mom I also installed a new transformer and chime works great

• Yes. You get an alert when the doorbell is pushed. A motion sensor also is supposed to alert you if someone is at the front door and does NOT push the doorbell. But I found the motion sensor hit and miss.
