Yes this basically uses a user account that gets added to all events of a calendar of your choosing. I personally use Google calendar but as long as you use the supported calendars you can make changes on the device or calendar outside of the device. When setting it up it asks you if you want edit to come from device it just subscribe to a calendar to avoid edits from device

The two-way sync feature where you can make changes is only applicable for Google calendars as our team is still working on this feature to other calendars. Stay tuned for updates!
