Yes- you will in fact be accessing the cable box in your NJ home and streaming that image to your FL TV via Roku.

Yes but the problem is that the Slingbox is notoriously unreliable.
 My first unit failed after less that 1 hour of use. 
The second unit worked for a few hours but then dropped off-line while I was viewing remotely.. If it drops off-line while you are watching remotely, there seems to be no way to reconnect. 
The concept is good but the implementation and reliability are not.

No- it only works for cable TV not Roku - it way work for Satellite TV but I havent tried that
