Hi Marge- You left out one thing, you need a smart tv as well, or at least a devise such as amazon firestick plugged into the tv to make it "smart. " Need internet service at the location you are sending from as well as where you are sending to. You cannot watch different stations at each location unless you have multiple cable boxes and "dedicate" one to slinging. The firestick gives minimal control and I got poor picture quality, but I have slow internet at both locations. I bought a Roku TV and it worked a ton better. You can google slingbox website to get a list of devises that work with slingbox. THE CURRENTLY AVAILABE RETAIL ROKUs DO NOT WORK!!!! You would have to get a refurbished older one. The set-up process can be tedious, need to download Roku ap and slingbox for phone for free app(NOT SLING TV APP!!!!) I tried to upload the instructions I give my guests here but the website would not accept the documents. Sorry! Mark
