They make a brass '1/4"Copper Compression to 1/4" male adapter". $5.00 at any hardware store. I have the same set up it works fine. In many older homes people just ran copper tubing under the house and poked up through the floor. The adapter will connect to the S/S hose.

Demanded deliver anyway & magically they rechecked valve "valve fine it's hooked up". BS & spoke to cust svc for inconvenience, agreed, accommodated me $
