“I bought a Whirlpool 21.4cu ft. refrigerator and this waterline kit was required..The water coming out of the dispenser has had a strong metallic taste. I ran several gallons of water and tubs of ice the first day. My tap water has no taste. How do I fix?”

That’s normal but the bad taste will go away after two weeks of use.
