• No water line needed. But you will only make air ice cubes. Ice cubes without water LOL hope you have a good imagination.

• All I can tell you is that my contractor had to run a line from my sink across the room and under the cupboards so that I could use the water/ice feature. If you don't already have a water source in the spot where the fridge is going to go.
