“If I already have a water line to my current refrigerator, why do I need a new hoop up kit?”

• Best Buy cannot guarantee that the current water line isn't defective and won't leak, or be damaged when installing on the new product. They require a new water line but if you choose not to purchase from them, you are allowed to supply your own but it must be new.

• I was told that when I bought the refrigerator, I would need a new water line in the event the current line needed to be replaced. It turns out that this new water line was not needed, as I was still able to use the existing water line. I will be returning the new water line for a refund. Guess it better to be safe and purchase a new line and seek refund than to not purchase and have problems with the current line not being compatable.

• As it was explained to us, this way it is assured that the water line does not break from age....ours was about 10 years old from our prior fridge. Not that expensive when one considers that water leaking would cause to your flooring. Also insures that your installation goes on with no hitches, if your old one were to be split or damaged, it would delay installation for time to secure a new one.

• The original water line to my refrigerator was made of copper. Over time the copper wire continues to bend and it retains a memory restricting the flow of the water to the refrigerator. The new hose that is put on by Best Buy is a flexible tube allowing the water to flow freely. It also makes it a lot easier to pull the fridgerator in in out to clean behind it and underneath it.
