• I would say no. It's all hooked up to sensors and mechanical parts to make it work. Get the long stainless steel water line and a saddle valve. You can easily hook into any cold water pipe and turn run the line through cabinet or wherever to get to the fridge. I went right up through the floor from the basement water line.
