• When there is light to charge the device, those features work. While it's not charging (at night, very cloudy day, etc.), you will lose that functionality.

• No, the extra plug in features do not work with the solar panel. The only thing the solar panel does is it keeps the battery topped off. Handy to have if the camera is in an inconvenient place to charge/change battery. If I remember right, the outdoor electric plug-ins have been recalled & are no longer available. (May 2019) All of my documentation kept repeating "AC power for indoor cameras".

• If you are using the solar panel, you don't need to use the electrical plug. The solar panel charges your battery. The electrical plug does the same. Don't need both. One or the other. One thing about the panel....wipe the dust off regularly so it gets good sunlight.
