For the solar panel to charge optimally the directions say to start with fully charged batteries, the panels must be placed in full sun for several hours per day, if those conditions are met, it should stay charged. That being said, I just installed mine a few days ago and cannot speak to long term results. So far so good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had horrible results with my spotlight cam which uses two batteries and the solar panel. It works only 10% of the time and then says not connected. The customer support a ring is horrible. They tell me to reboot the unplug etc etc and it may work for a while but after maybe a day or two solar panel not connected. I would not recommend the solar panels
