If you place thebstove dorectly on wood deck it will leave a mark, put it on something like some brick or card board, I recommend to buy a stand designed for the stove (around $79) it looks nice and protect wood deck too.

Yes, I use this with the stand on a wood deck. I did buy and additional "fire pit round blanket" that I have placed underneath, and have had no issues.
