Hi, Thank you for your question. I'm happy to help clarify how the Sonance 8-50 AMP works. Do I need a separate streaming device? Yes, the Sonance 8-50 AMP does not have built-in streaming capabilities, so you’ll need to pair it with a separate streaming device or system (like a Sonos Port, BluOS Node, HEOS Link, etc.) to stream music to the amp. If you're building a multi-room system, you may need one streaming source per zone, depending on how independently you want to control the music in each space. Can I play different music in different rooms (zones)? Yes, but only if each zone has its own audio source. The 8-50 AMP is an 8-channel amplifier, which allows for up to 4 stereo zones, but it doesn’t handle source switching or streaming control on its own. For true independent playback in each zone, you’ll want to connect individual streamers or use a matrix switcher setup with multiple inputs. Can I connect a Sonos subwoofer and assign it to different zones? The Sonos Sub (wireless) cannot be directly connected to the 8-50 AMP, as the amp does not integrate with Sonos' wireless audio ecosystem. If you're using a Sonos Port or Sonos Amp alongside the 8-50, you could potentially integrate the sub via the Sonos ecosystem, but you wouldn’t be able to dynamically assign it to different zones via the 8-50 amp alone. Most traditional setups with the 8-50 use passive subwoofers wired to a dedicated amp channel per zone, not wireless subs. I hope you found this information helpful. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Thanks for your reply. It was very helpful. If I want to use my iPhone to connect to the Sonance 8-50 amp and the Sonos speakers to which they are attached, would I still need a streaming device like Sonos Port? Or is the iPhone sufficient? Thank you.
