Q: QuestionThis may be a dumb question but why does this enclosure have 4 wires and 4 connection terminals? My MAG8R speakers only have 2 connection terminals. What do you do with the 2 extra wires?

• A:Answer The enclosure has 4 wires in case you want to “bi-amp “ the speakers. It makes it easy to do that, if you don’t know what that means look it up online on a high end stereo/audio site. If your not doing that just use two wires ( black and red) on one side or the other and be consistent from speaker to speaker so you can easily remember which connectors you are using. Simply tuck the other wires out of the way!

Q: QuestionCan acoustical polyfill be added to these? The little pad shown in the image doesn't look like it would provide much damping?. Adding polyfill would have the additional benefit of providing a bit of insulation against the attic environment, too.

Q: QuestionWhat is the functionality of a speaker enclosure? I have a new construction home. How do I know if I need a speaker enclosure?

• A:Answer If being installed in an attic space below the roof, these enclosures would also keep the speakers safe from insulation and possible environmental changes. It just helps protect them in addition to sound spill over and tightening up the bass a touch.

Q: QuestionDo these need to be installed from the attic side, or can they be pushed up from within the listening area?

• A:Answer Cut holes from underneath. Then speakers with the enclosure already attached are pushed up into the cut out . Once speaker is in hole tighten screws from underneath. As you tighten the screws the lever on the speaker that is in the roof lowers and sandwiches the Sheetrock locking speaker into place. It’s good to already connect the speaker wire before inserting into hole. Also don’t over tighten screws because the arm can break through the Sheetrock roof.

• A:Answer Contrary to the answer previously submitted by the Sonance team, these enclosures did not fit the 8" In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos and Sonance. I just bought these for this exact purpose and found out the hard way. Based on the spec sheets, it looks like the Sonance VX8-ENCL-R enclosures may work instead, though I have not been able to confirm yet.
